Prashna Jyotish : Prof AV Sundram

This one for Astro seekers.
A little bird told me,"" some times one finds it difficult to know the real reason for whats happening to a Native..those times PRASANA chart will help.
=The Prasana chart can be made for the Time, like regular chart prepaeation or the following method.
= Take a book ask the Native to open the book and see the page number, left side for the female Native and right for the male. Divide the number by 9 (Navamsa) and locate the Prsana lag.( ex..number is 76. divided 9 (one rasi) give
8 times and4 reminder. that means 8 rasi are over and 9 rasi that is DHANUS.(Kalapurusha) note.multiplies of 108 should be removed..ex 206.. remove 108 reminder 98 divide this by 9 ,,10 times reminder 8. 10 rasis are over then its Kumbha.IMPORTANT if there is no Reminder like 36,45,72 etc. Then its not Time to know, drop the checking.
= look for Planets in the 6,8,12 .
=Planet in the 6 house indicates the DOSHA. (Self mistake)
=Planet in the 8 house indicates the KOPHA (Anger) oft others.
= Planet in the 12 indicates the SAPHA (Curse) of others.
=The others includes the Family deity, parents, gurus, people dead, enimies, birds, animals, snakes etc.
If No planets are there, then nothing is wrong...""This one for Astro seekers.

Summarised views of Dr Suresh Ch Mishra : FB page Saptrishis Astrology.

Summarised views of Dr Suresh Ch Mishra :

Post by Muhammad Imran
I lately followed Dr. Suresh Chandra Mishra's interview by Vandana Gupta Spanning over many hours, it is an excellent series of discussion mainly focusing theoretical doubts and confusing practice of Jyotish elements. All the videos are available on Sapta Rishis Youtube page.
Like Dr. Mishra's many excellent books, this discussion is also in Hindi language. Therefore I guess, non-Hindi Jyotish world is still unaware. A noted Sanskrit scholar, Dr. Mishra follows and teaches Shastric Jyotish (that is, astrology according to traditional scriptures). Some of the noteworthy points of his discussions are as follows.
1) The available version of BPHS is not in its actual form. Despite it is a mine of almost all Jyotish tools and techniques. Dr. Mishra also alluded why chapters of BPHS does not appear to us in logical order.
2) Before reading BPHS, an aspirant should first understand three classics: Brihat Jataka, Phaladeepika and Saravali. Figuratively, Brihat Jataka is like refined butter extracted from 'Jyotish milk'.
3) Historically, Jaimini was not a "Maharishi", but "Kand Rishi". He was not an innovator of separate school of astrology. Rather Jaimini only explained a part (Kand) of Parashar Hora.
4) Functional benefic planets play more important role than natural benefic planets, especially in making a chart potent and productive.
5) Effect of planets should not delineate according to nakshatra ruler (of Vimshottari scheme). Jyotish Shastras do not instruct to follow this innovative approach.
6) Birth Time Rectification can be performed through judging physical appearance, complexion and birth marks/moles. For this purpose, analyse dispositor of Lagna Navamsa, Moon's Navamsa and Planets in 1st/2nd/3rd DreskaNa. For discerning twin births, check their Navamsa (D9) or Shashtiamsa (D60) figures as stand-alone charts. Sepcial Lagnas also help.
7) Raja yogas become fruitless, if Sun, Moon and Lagna are not equally strong at birth.
8) For the planetary strength, don't blindly rely on the numerical outcome of Shadbala.
9) Shubh and Ashubh Panchak (5 benefic and malefic) strength criteria, instructed by Maharihi Parashara, is a summary of Sthan Bala. Therefore it should give more importance than total numerical value of Shadbala.
10) SthanaBala is far more important than all other parts of Shadbala, especially for TaraGraha (Ma, Me, Ju, Ve, Sa).
11) Besides SthanaBala, strength of Sun is directly proportional to its AyanBala, and strength of Moon is depended on its Pakshbala.
12) A vakri (retrograde planet) is always stronger, especially if it is opposite/away from Sun.
13) "Retrograde planet aspects backward or in reverse order" is not a fundamental Jyotish principle. It has certain astronomical conditions that rarely fulfilled by a planet (except Jupiter).
14) Baladi Avastha is now widely misunderstood. This set of Avastha was actually designed to show planet's position in its own cycle/orbit with respect to Sun. A planet about to combust is termed Mrit Avastha; and placed farthest from Sun is called Yuva Avastha.
15) KalaSarp Yoga source is unknown. No standard classical text maintains it. But KalaSarp yoga is similar to certain type of Nabhas Yoga. It indicates imbalances in potential and destiny.
16) Badhakasthana do mentioend by Maharishi Parashar, and therefore it has role in natal chart analysis. The 11th for moveable sign, 9th for fixed sign and 7th from dual sign is a partial definition of Badhakasthana. A planet becomes true Badhakesh only when it is strongly connected by 8th house/lord or its drekkana/amsa or gulika.
17) Maraka does not only stand for 'killing' or 'death harbinger'. Actually there are various kinds of maraka results (e.g. setback, scandal, insult, financial scarcity, chronic illness, physical hardship etc).
18) Calculating Bhava Chalit by trisecting Asc<=>MC is a misleading approach. Asc. is horizon of local birth place, but MC is midheaven of geocentric position. How can you add/subtract apples with oranges?
19) According to Maharishi Parashar, Bhava Chalit chart should base on equal 30 degree division. Every house cusp (BhavaMadhya) has similar degree and minute. +/-15 degree on each side of cusps define Bhava Sandhi.
20) Grahas and Upgrahas give their full occupation results when placed near house cusp.
21) Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto can not be entitled "Graha". Because they do not fulfil definition and conditions of becoming a Graha. No traditional Jyotish scripture mentions/clues their name. Their usage is a personal preference.
22) Sade Sati is not a Sanskrit astrological term (rather it's a Hindi compound word). This concept is relatively new (introduced just few centuries ago). Sade Sati will not harm if Saturn is owns and occupies good places.
23) Ashtakavarga is to judge good/bad transit results (whether yearly, monthly or daily), and also helps in Mahurtha. SAV also serves in predicting number of years when important event may occur in life.
24) Vimshottari Dasha unconditionally applies on all charts. Other conditional nakshatra dashas may be seen to cross-check junctional phase/period of life.
