PRIMARY RULES ON READING STRENGTH OF HOUSE AND ITS PORTFOLIOS: 1. For judging any aspect of life the following factors must be carefully examined before result is reached: (a) The concerned house (study all twelve houses before concerned house is taken for study) – its strength and the sign in it; (b) The owner of the house – its strength, location and nature for the ascendant; (c) The Karaka for the house (most important) –its location in house and sign, nature and strength; (d) The planets associated with, aspecting or in sambandha with the owner of the selected house for study; (e) –DO- the karaka of the selected house for study; (f) The planets aspecting and/or occupying the house under study – their nature/relation with the ascendant, their ownership of different houses and their strength. 2. The affairs of the houses owned by a planet will flourish if the depositors of the planet in the birth and the navansha charts are powerful. 3. The affairs indicated by a house will manifest themselves completely if the owner of the house, the occupier of the house, the Karaka for the house, the beneficial planets aspecting the house and the house itself are all powerful; 4. No planet damages its own house or its own house of exaltation – which ever the count of house from ascendant- if it is located there. A malefic planet in its own house or house of exaltation will promote the affairs (portfolio) of the house. 5. A house will be considered strong if: (i) the owner of the house is strong; (ii) The house is (a) occupied or aspected by its owner; (b) occupied or aspected by planets beneficial for the chart (if not combust or weak) (c) hemmed in by planets that are beneficial for the chart or such planets aspect houses immediately on both sides of the house. - श्री AV Pathi Chennai (FB page Astrology & Remedies)
