LONGIVITY: As per ‘PHALA DEEPIKA’ : ‘
the best time (to be the birth time of the natal) is 1st cry of that child.
I have the following to say, basing this, on determining ‘longevity’ of an individual from his birth chart.
Normally the Longevity is worked out after first 12 years of the child. (Dinamrityu, Dinaroga, Gandanthaka and Vishagatikala).
1. The life of the native may be predicted as long, medium or short according to the benefic planets and the LORD of the Lagna are all placed in Angular, Panapara, or Apolika house respectively (this is the main lead).
2. While it is so, if the Lord of the 9th house and the malefic planets are posited in a similar positions, the contrary results should be pronounced.
3. The LORD of the house occupied by the Moon in the birth chart and the Lord of the 8th house from the Moon, or Lord of the Lagna and the lord of 8th house from it, or The Sun and the Lord of the Lagna –
check they are friendly – the native will have long life;
if inimical – a short life;
if neutral – medium life.
Corollary to this will be: Lord of Lagna and Lord of Navansha Lagna are stronger – friendly- than the Lords of 8th house counted from each, that natal will enjoy a long span of life.
Similar result will be with respect to Lord of the sign occupied by the Moon in birth chart or the Lord of the Moon parked in Navansha.
If otherwise, the effects will be opposite. Further analysis, on ‘break’ of Longevity due to reasons beyond the set rules, because of Sickness, disease, accidents, afflictions, born mental weakness/ailments etc., - as traced in a birth chart under pertinent related rules- along with transit of planets under identified rules could cause termination of life before normal deductions under these rules. – By Sri AV Pathi Chennai
