DIRECTIONAL Strength :penned by Sri AV Pathi ji (FB pg Astrological Researches....)

STRENGTH OF DIRECTIONAL – DiSHA- SYSTEM IN HINDU ASTROLOGY:
(Disha : means direction)::

 The most useful and practiced directional system is ‘VIMSHOTTARI’. The first to be seen here is to which of the planets are friends to two or all of three Lagna (Birth time Lagna, Chandra – day- Lagna, Sun - the day in the month Lagna). Principle: If a planet is friend to most of the Lagna-s it will give its’ results in good preference to other planets. As above, a planet becomes a benefic or a yoga karaka and it would give, by and large, good results. Then, the birth chart reading would have pointers in related planet’s Dasha to yield favourable results. In other words, where the main Dasha Lord is not a benefic planet of satisfactory yield in its period, but the sub-periods Lord is good, the result w
ill still be above average of expectations. However, it is important that the sub-period Lord be of good strength (ref: Ashtaga Varga points). Also account, in positional debilitation (parked in 6th,8th or 12th house from all three Lagna) or aspect of malefic planets, is in the very beginning or at the end of a sign (within 6° in either side) is weak, is eclipsed, is ‘ATICHARI’ that planet will give bad results, even if it is Lord of that house. Also to be remembered that Rahu and Ketu are shadowy planets and do not have any independent effects while they can ill- affect or increase good results by planets influenced by them .
